CARF International Awards Hudson Community Enterprises Its Highest Level of Accreditation

This month HCE was awarded a three-year accreditation, the highest level of accreditation by CARF, a respected international, non-profit accreditor of organizations providing services in the areas of rehabilitation and employment. CARF sets high standards to which organizations must conform if they are to be accredited.  Hudson Community Enterprises was complimented for its Hispanic Outreach Program and its continuum of services which offers a fluid pathway for persons served to develop and grow. The survey report complimented HCE on “the valuable partnerships it has developed and nurtured with many local businesses and the community.”

HCE Staff Hosts Thanksgiving Day Dinner

For the fourth year in a row, our staff cooked a complete Thanksgiving Day Dinner for approximately 150 clients in the Rehab programs.  This dinner is always special and enables many individuals in our program who otherwise would not have been able to partake in a Thanksgiving Dinner to enjoy it. A Special thanks to all staff who assisted in this day.

Pershing Event a Huge Success

This month ten volunteers from Pershing came to HCE and assisted in the first ever HCE Game Show. The volunteers and program participants played the “Thinking Cap” Game. Keith Sellers, aka Sir Lucious Leftfoot, emceed the games assisted by our own Vanna’s, Yaminah and Gloria. The winning team won trophies and prizes.  A wonderful time was had by all.

HCE Holds its Annual Food Drive

The Rehabilitation department coordinated its annual Food Drive this month.  There were a large number of donations, and in the end, over twenty-five bags of food were distributed to many of the Center’s clients in need. A special thanks to all especially Esther Phillip.

HCE Selected for Radio Talk Show Presentation

This month HCE President, Maureen Walliser appeared on “Strictly Business Radio “Show with host Anna D. Banks. The interview highlighted the successes and challenges of building successful social enterprises. Great visibility for HCE and its programs!
